If you hang out with some of the people that I hang out with you will meet a number of odd people, but this was one of the oddest nights out I ever had. The kick off was when I was in the line at the club and there were these two guys in front of me who got into a fight over hair extensions. I am not even joking, although I would not have believed it if I had not heard. Both of this guys were really trying to make a style statement and they did not seem to care if people like me thought that it was really weird looking. In fact I suspect that this was the point or something. One of them was in fact wearing fake hair in addition to his own hair. I do not know what the point was or why this other guy wanted to talk to him about it, but he was not in the mood to discuss that matter and he just sucker punched the guy right in the face.
Of course I sort of used the distraction of the fight to get up further in the line. All of the other people were watching the fight and I got to the front of the line without making it too obvious, because I did not want to spend my night standing in a queue. I was supposed to meet a girl inside and it took me quite a long while to find her, but she was with another girl and it was not like they were very interested in me. It was obvious that a very large number of these people were doing more than drinking and I realized that I had been going to a rave. It was very odd indeed. Go On Studying
There is a telephone pole on the corner just down the street. It is close to the edge of the road. Big trucks turn there and hit that pole on a regular basis. The town says they have a plan to have it moved in about a year. The power lines on it do not serve our house. However, the cable TV line does. About every month or so like clockwork a truck will push that pole out of position or snap it off. The last time we lost TV service I went to http://satellite-direct-tv.com/directv-select-package.html to switch to DirecTV. Go On Studying
My wife and I were working and set a show to record on our cable DVR. While at work someone whacked the pole. The show did not record. We were really looking forward to seeing the season finale of that show that evening when we got home from work. That was what got me to call and switch to DirecTV. Not even considering the fact that it never goes out on us, we like it for a lot of other reasons. We are paying less for more channels than what we got with cable. The DVR can record a bunch more shows at one time than our cable box could. We can pause a show in one room and pick it up where we left off in the other room. We like the on-screen guide a whole lot more too.
I wish we would have switched a long time ago. That little dish up on the roof does not look bad at all, and it brings us a lot of low cost television programming. Our cable bill was through the roof. This is more affordable to us, we have it in all the bedrooms and the living room, and we got free installation to boot. Not a bad deal, and it does not go out when the pole down the street gets knocked over.
